Terms

These terms describe the responsibilities that come with using BuildEbook to plan, draft, edit, and export a book.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using BuildEbook, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are using the service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept them for that organization.

2. Accounts

Provide accurate account information, keep credentials confidential, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and, in all cases, at least 13 years old.

3. Beta service

BuildEbook is beta software. Features, limits, formats, credits, and availability may change. The service may contain defects or experience interruptions, and projects should be exported and backed up before they become business-critical.

4. Your content

You retain rights you already hold in briefs, manuscripts, and other material you submit. You grant BuildEbook a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transform that material only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the requested service.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for submitted material and that it does not unlawfully violate another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, publicity, or other rights.

5. AI-assisted drafts

AI output is a draft, not an assurance of truth, originality, ownership, safety, or fitness for publication.

You must review and revise output, verify facts and citations, obtain specialist advice when appropriate, check for similarity or rights issues, and satisfy the rules of each marketplace or distributor. Similar or identical output may be produced for others, and protectability can vary by jurisdiction.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use BuildEbook to break the law, infringe rights, deceive or impersonate people, distribute malware, exploit or probe the service, bypass limits, automate account creation, resell access without permission, or create content that facilitates serious harm. Do not submit secrets or sensitive personal data you are not authorized to process.

7. Credits and planned pricing

Beta generation credits are a usage-control mechanism, have no cash value, and may expire or change. Prices and paid plans displayed as “planned” are product direction only and are not an offer or active subscription. Separate billing terms will be presented before any charge is made.

8. Exports and publishing

Exported HTML, DOCX, and EPUB files may require additional formatting or validation for a particular device, printer, or marketplace. BuildEbook does not publish on your behalf, promise marketplace acceptance, guarantee sales, or provide legal, tax, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

9. Suspension and termination

We may limit or suspend access to protect the service or others, investigate suspected abuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Where practical, we will try to provide notice and a chance to export legitimate work, but immediate action may be necessary for security or safety.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing here excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limits of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildEbook and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the beta. Any aggregate liability will not exceed the amount paid for the service during the prior three months; because the current beta is free, mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material updates will use a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-product notice. Continued use after an update takes effect means acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@buildebook.com.
